For some people who have been struggling with weight all their lives, Bariatric surgery may be an option to help with morbid obesity issues. While Bariatric surgery is an immediate change and a surgical solution for morbid obesity issues, Dr. Fischer recognizes that lifestyle and continued weight management changes are needed to promote optimal health and to prevent the weight from coming back.
The Park Avenue Diet™ philosophy works well with Bariatric patients, recognizing that there
are psychological and social components that are needed to help those with weight issues tackle the problems that led them to morbid obesity in the first place.
The partnering of The Park Avenue Diet™ Center and a certified Bariatric surgery practice is the
perfect way for those with weight management issues to start the path to living healthy. Patients can choose to enter the The Park Avenue Diet™ Program with or without the option of Bariatric surgery. Those who receive Bariatric surgery can also stay healthy from the care and consultation provided for in the pre- and post-operative phases of The Park Avenue Diet™ Program.
The Park Avenue Diet™ Center is also augmented with partnered experts who can provide consultation in the areas of nutrition, fitness, personal styling, skincare, grooming, hair care and psychological counseling.
The process takes one through a 16-week program that is tailored to a patient’s specific health needs whether or not they have other existing health issues.
There are options for continued care or limited follow-up based on specific issues:
THE PARK AVENUE DIET™ PROGRAM:
Since each individual has his or her own image-related problems The Park Avenue Diet™ is designed to fully accommodate anyone’s needs. This is the most customized of the programs, which ensures it as the quickest. Personal counseling allows you to continuously make strides for the rest of your life, a feature that non-physician programs can not compete with.
THE MODIFIED PARK AVENUE DIET™ PROGRAM:
For those with existing medical conditions that don’t allow them to pursue The Park Avenue Diet™ Program alone, the diet—with some modifications—can prove to be a safer alternative.
This program offers direct, foreseeable goals that enable an individual to accomplish them. It is tailored to specific medical issues so as not to disrupt current medical care or medicinal intake. The Park Avenue Diet team will consult with your primary care physician to adjust each plan, so it can fit your lifestyle as well as your needs, ensuring that the plan will consistently nurture you for success.
THE NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENT/MEAL REPLACEMENT PARK AVENUE DIET™ PROGRAM:
This program utilizes nutritional supplements and appetite suppressant/meal replacement
shakes in order to curb your appetite. The program is a safe way to lose weight dramatically and may also be combined with the other programs as well. Your medical
history will be reviewed and a nutritional program will be recommended that will not interfere with currently prescribed medication.
THE BARIATIC SURGERY & PARK AVENUE DIET™ PROGRAM:
People who are at least 100 lbs. overweight or with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 40 should consider Bariatric surgery. What exactly is Bariatric surgery? This procedure entails surgical adjustments to the small intestine and stomach, which will limit food consumption. Bariatric surgery will be done in consultation with a Bariatric Surgeon as well as with The Park Avenue Diet™ team to link this procedure to a concurrent behavioral management program.
The Park Avenue Diet™ Center Bariatric Program is an 18-week series of appointments with a
Bariatric Specialty Surgical Practice based in the New York and/or surrounding area, partnered
with The Park Avenue Diet™ Center aimed at treating morbidly obese patients and those
interested in weight loss and lifestyle management.
Headed by Dr. Stuart Fischer and a licensed Bariatric surgeon, the practice is headquartered
at The Park Avenue Diet™ Center located in midtown Manhattan, New York.
The appointments begin with a 2-week screening and orientation period followed by 16
weeks of engagement into the The Park Avenue Diet™ Program.
